How to improve Your fps

Many of You probably know how important is fps counter in babo, but for those who doesn't know, here is few tips how to improve it, and most important why?

fps stands for - frames per second it affects your gameplay a lot and its equal important as ping
If You have low fps you will experience many glitches during the game, which affects time of your reactions which is important on the battlefield.

Ok so here are the fps numbers to know when You have to start worrying about it:

0-15 fps - very poor its almost impossible to play good with this fps
15-30 fps - still bad You should try to improve it
30-60 fps - most common fps for ppl who have VSync turned on (how to dissable it later)
60-100 - its normal fps If You can try to improve it to 100+ , because on maps with lots of ppl and zookas it will drop

How to check your fps in game?
In menu -> options -> turn show stats on and the fps counter will be visible in top right corner
or
use tools such as fraps which is usefull for many other things

How to improve Your fps?
There are many solution to this problem but there are two different group of solutions:

1. If you have old pc then You should do:
a) reduce resoulution in babo
b) reduce grafic options such as "reflection" (this one is a must) "weather effects" (this one as well) ect...
try to watch how each option affects your fps number
c) for maps with snow change map texture in Your Babo Violent 2\main\textures\themes folder find "snow" folder then and (make a backup copy) then delete the files in it and copy files from other folder for example "grass" and you will have grass maps instead of snow
d) close all programs in background but this one is obvious

2. If you have relatively new pc thats where the problem is starting:
a) Turn your VSynch off , for example if you have Nvidia video card go to Nvidia control Panel-> then to 3D settings -> then in the first option You will see a performance slider ->mark user settings so the slider won't be gray -> turn the slider max to the left (optimum performance)
This options unblock fps from 60 (usually because thats the refresh rate of most LCD monitors) to 60+
For ATI users I think there is similar option in Catalyst Control Panel
There is also an ingame command which You can use in console but it didn't work for me
b) Multicore CPU users :
- Install winlauncherxp (google it its free tool)
then do the following ->Programs -> add program config-> standard options-> browse for babo violent exe file (which you use to launch the game) -> go to SMP tab uncheck all processors except nr1-> then always run the game via WinLauncherXP there You will have "babo" which you need to press.

This methode is helping to launch the game with all cores turned off, except 1, because babo have problem with multicore CPU computers and makes their fps ridicolous low, compared to overall PC perfomance in other games
(there is other way how to dissable cores in windows XP, without using this tool, but its not handy so I won't post it here)
c) update Your drivers!

However I must say that you won't notice a difference between 60 fps and 100 with the human eye, so, imo, if you have 60 (kinda normal, because of vsync), you're fine..

When Your having 60 fps its normal but it will drop drasticly when Your playing crowdy game with lots of zookas ect.

Thanks so much for this post Gloom, changing the graphical processing thingy (I can't remember whats its called. Oh wait.. the Hardware acceleration or something like that) really uncapped the cap on my Babo FPS so now I get average 300 FPS WOOT. Not only that but now I can play Oblivion without any lag. I mean Counter Strike Source. Obviously.

And this might seem obvious but there are a few things in the rendering options menu in Babo that some people might want to leave on. I do because it helps me.

Terrain Splatter - tells you there have been babos in the area and could still be around.
Show Casing - you probably actually don't really necessarily in most cases to be honest frankly (damn i ran out of words) need this one because you will probably see the Babo before you see his casing; but think of it like a breadcrumb trail that leads you to the babo like it did for my friends Hansel and Gretel only they used them to get back home.

Those were tips for "new" players, the older ones to be honest really probably need this one because they have special powers. Gero can ban using his mind alone. Sashimi swapped normal bullets for Talebanese (I DONT CARE IF I SPELT THAT WRONG) bullets enabling him to shoot through walls. No joke he killed me once this way. He probably killed you as well you just don't know it (Sashimi is a ninja.. shhh its a secret). Unreal has unlimited sexual capacity and Rush can kill you with his silence. I wouldn't mess with Karn either, because according to local sources (Sayed) he is God. And Ulisses is Jesus. This means Ulisses is Karn's son. OMFG you didnt see that one coming did you???
